Sheep average $530 per head

Brad Magnus of Luseland, Sask., bought six of 14 lots in the Katahdin sheep sale at Canadian Western Agribition, including the high seller.

He paid $800 for the grand champion ram, BRT 875B, from B & R Farms of Raymore, Sask. He also took home another ram and eight ewes from several different consignors.

The sale totalled $7,425 to average $530.26, down slightly from last year’s $550 average.

In the show ring, Franklyn Farm of Mayerthorpe, Alta., won the grand champion ewe with FLK 396Y. Triple C Ranch of Arborfield, Sask., showed the reserve, CCC20B.

The reserve grand champion ram honours went to Mish Katahdins of Glenavon, Sask. for JJCM A 401.
