Sask. names new ag deputy

Gordon Nystuen is Saskatchewan’s new deputy minister of agriculture.

He takes over from Terry Scott, who moved to the government’s cabinet planning unit.

Nystuen, who was raised in Spalding, Sask., has held a number of senior executive positions in the provincial public service. He was chief executive officer of the Saskatchewan Health Information Network, president of Saskatchewan Transportation Company and president and CEO of the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority.

Most recently, he was a consultant with Paradigm Consulting.
