Just back from Christmas and New Year’s break and read in the Dec. 23rdWestern Producer(federal agriculture minister Gerry) Ritz’s reply to the CWB election on page 5. Ritz states that the results are not valid because of low voter response.
The voter response was about 42 percent for the CWB election. The last federal election was around 31 percent so I guess the federal election should be invalid.
Ritz has been trying to undermine or destroy the CWB for years; he has failed at every turn. He talks of taking more farmers off the voters list.

Funny thing he takes wheat and barley marketers off the list and lets marketers of canola and four other grains grown that are not marketed by the CWB, vote in a CWB election.
Just for example, I talked to farmers during this CWB election that market wheat and barley through the Canadian Wheat Board.
The federal government informed the CWB to take their names off the voters list.
If those producers had not been alert to that fact then they would have lost their voice. Most persons taken off the list are CWB supporters, another trick of Mr. Ritz.
The voters list gets smaller every year because of the interference of this federal government and Mr. Ritz.
Again the CWB has served me well for my 31 years in farming. I was growing grains not ostriches.
