Alberta Conservative MP John Barlow will continue as the shadow minister for agriculture under the leadership of Pierre Poilievre.
The Conservative party leader announced his new critics Oct. 12.
Barlow had endorsed Poilievre during the leadership campaign and had been the critic under previous leaders as well.
Associate shadow ministers of agriculture are Warren Steinley, who represents Regina-Lewvan, and Richard Lehoux from Beauce in Quebec.
Calling his picks “the new inflation-busting” shadow cabinet, Poilievre said the team would take on prime minister Justin Trudeau and his “costly coalition.”

Other appointments include Mark Strahl for transport, Gerard Deltell for environment, Kyle Seeback for international trade, Matt Jeneroux for supply chain issues, Dan Mazier, rural economic development and connectivity, and Pat Kelly for prairie economic development. Long-time Saskatchewan MP Randy Hoback will be associate shadow minister for international trade and an advisor to Poilievre on Canada/U.S. relations.
