Associate shadow ministers of agriculture are Warren Steinley, who represents Regina-Lewvan, and Richard Lehoux from Beauce in Quebec.

Calling his picks “the new inflation-busting” shadow cabinet, Poilievre said the team would take on prime minister Justin Trudeau and his “costly coalition.”

“Together with this team, Conservatives will take on Justinflation, fight all of Trudeau and his costly coalition’s tax hikes, including his plans to triple the expensive carbon tax, and tackle the cost-of-living crisis so that young people can buy a home, families can afford nutritious food, and our seniors can retire with dignity,” he said.

Other appointments include Mark Strahl for transport, Gerard Deltell, environment, Kyle Seeback for international trade, Matt Jeneroux for supply chain issues, Dan Mazier, rural economic development and connectivity, and Pat Kelly for Prairie Economic Development. Long-time Saskatchewan MP Randy Hoback will be associate shadow minister for international trade and an advisor to Poilievre on Canada/U.S. relations.
