The Saskatchewan government has committed another $2.55 million to the upgrades at Regina’s Ipsco Place, bringing the provincial contribution to $20 million.

The money is contingent upon an agreement between the park and the federal government.

The city of Regina and the province have committed to the $172 million project but Ottawa has yet to do so.

Construction is expected to start this year on a multiplex containing five new ice surfaces and a show arena. The project is expected to take two years to complete.

Ipsco Place is home to agricultural shows such as Canadian Western Agribition and Farm Progress Show.
