OTR’s TR-34 tires blend tread patterns to provide more versatility than turf tires for typical farmyard terrain
Many compact tractors spend their work days cutting grass, but they often get pressed into service for other functions around the farm.
The terrain around the edges of most farmyards are a little less manicured than a typical city property, so smooth turf tires on small tractors can leave them struggling for traction.
OTR Engineered Solutions has a fix for that problem. This fall it introduced its hybrid TR-34 tire line for compact tractors.
The tires use what the brand describes as an “innovative non-directional” tread pattern. It blends a little of everything in typical tractor tires to provide improved traction in soft conditions without damaging turf.

A siped R1-style open shoulder improves traction in muddy conditions, which is combined with a non-directional blend of R3 and R4 lugs.
“The TR-34 was developed with end customers and turf equipment manufacturers in mind,” said Brian Walter, VP of OEM sales.
“It features a unique non-direction tread design, so there are no left or right tires for easy installation. It also delivers more function vis-a-vis its hybrid R3-R4 tread with aggressive styling that our research confirms will enhance the appeal of the machine itself.”
The TR-34 line is available in four sizes, 16 x 7.50-8, 18 x 8.50-10, 24 x 12,00-12, and 26 x 12.00-12. They are available through several tire retailers, including Kal Tire, Fountain Tire and Tirecraft.
