SASKATOON – For the first time in a decade, Ed Sikorski is sleeping in during the week and enjoying breakfast in bed.

“I’m actually laying in bed having my coffee,” he said during a 9:30 a.m. telephone nterview from his home in Saskatoon.

Sikorski said he realized it was time to step back from the hectic position as general manager of the Saskatoon Prairieland Exhibition Association.

“It was all-consuming and now I’m realizing there’s a whole world out there outside the exhibition industry.”

Sikorski, 49, resigned last week, and said he’s ready to tackle a new challenge. But he’ll take his time figuring out what that new challenge will be.

Prairieland president Marv Henderson said Sikorski played a major role in the exhibition centre’s recent expansion.

Henderson accepted Sikorski’s resignation Nov. 8. Finance director Mark Regier will take over Sikorski’s duties temporarily.
