The Glacier FarmMedia Discovery Farm has teamed up with Agtech Accelerator to provide a platform that farmers can use to learn about the latest advancements in agricultural technology.
The partnership is geared up to prepare Canadian ag tech startups with market readiness by giving them access to media relations learning opportunities and farmland to conduct research and verification activities and discover practical solutions.
According to a recent news release, the initiative will provide expertise in media and marketing while creating opportunities for founders to connect with farmers to showcase their innovations, said Jordan McFarlen, incubator manager for Cultivator powered by Conexus.

It also includes 60 acres of additional research plots where research and industry partners conduct trials and demonstrations that inform farmers’ decision-making.
With fields, buildings and bins, the state-of-the-art digital farming infrastructure provides the ag industry with real-time field monitoring systems, farmer clinics, training and field tours throughout the year.
The Agtech Accelerator melds agriculture and technology, which is designed to speed up the growth of ag tech startups while building a global hub for investment, commercialization and new jobs across Western Canada.
Founding partners for the venture capital-backed program include Cultivator powered by Conexus (Cultivator), Economic Development Regina and Emmertech.
Selected companies have the opportunity to receive an equity investment through Emmertech, which is a first for an accelerator in Saskatchewan and Canada.
Companies will also benefit from a three-month virtual and in-person accelerator program that provides Canadian ag tech startups with access to capital, programming, connections and mentorship needed to help them scale.
