Our health columnist for the past 16 years, Dr. Frank MacInnis, died Feb. 2 in Kelowna, B.C. He was 84.

Dr. MacInnis specialized in the care of senior citizens and his columns reflected their ailments and concerns whether it be failing eyesight, balding heads or faltering hearts. He retired in 1991 as clinical director of the department of psychogeriatric medicine at Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. Three years ago he published a book called The Aging Game, which compiled the best of his columns.

The Western Producer will run the last few weeks of columns that he had prepared. In May, we hope to begin a similar column with a prairie health professional.
