The Saskatchewan government is seeking 12 people to sit on its Enterprise Saskatchewan board.

But selecting those 12 will be a huge job, after it sent out invitations to more than 300 organizations last week asking them to nominate potential board members.

Enterprise Saskatchewan is a new corporation, promised by the Saskatchewan Party during the fall election campaign. It is designed to ensure economic growth by removing barriers and making sure government policies assist private development.

Several agricultural organizations are among those to receive invitations to nominate representatives.

They include the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan, National Farmers Union, Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association, Sask Pork and the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association.

Other organizations associated with agriculture, such as Agrivision, regional economic development authorities, Farm Credit Canada and Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada, also received invitations.
