Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$44.39 per cwt. Aug 30, down from $48.98 Aug 23.
U.S. hogs averaged $55.78 on a carcass basis Aug 30, down from $64.55 Aug 23.
The U.S. pork cutout was $72.31 per cwt. Aug 30, down from $79.65 Aug 23.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Aug 31 was 2.379 million, down from 2.528 million the previous week.
Slaughter 2.317 million last year at the same time.
In Canada August 31 Signature Five price was C$161.80 per 100 kilograms, down from C$176.55 the week before.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$4.80-$5.10 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.00 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$4.70-$4.80 U.S. buyers are offering US$3.80.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 1191 sheep and lambs and 57 goats sold Aug 26. Most good quality lambs sold higher. All other types sold steady. Good sheep sold 5-10 higher. Goats sold steady.
