Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$55.54 per cwt. Aug 9, down from $61.96 Aug 2. U.S. hogs averaged $70.98 on a carcass basis Aug 9, down from $77.20 Aug 2.
The U.S. pork cutout was $90.44 per cwt. Aug 9, up from $86.64 Aug 2.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to Aug 9 was 2.303 million, down from 2.322 million the previous week. Slaughter was 2.201 million last year at the same time.
In Canada August 10 Signature Five price was C$189.61 per 100 kilograms, down from C$$192.29 the week before. On a per hundred weight basis price was $86.01 down from $87.22.

Bison
Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices from C$4.90-$5.10. per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.00 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs. Grade A heifers sold up to C$4.70-$4.80 U.S. buyers are offering US$3.80. Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 2152 sheep and lambs and 125 goats sold Aug 5. New crop lambs sold steady to slightly higher. Heavy type holliday lambs sold 10-15 higher.
