Hogs
The U.S. national live price average for barrows and gilts was US$49.74 per cwt. May 25 up from $49.70 May 18.
U.S. hogs averaged $65.07 on a carcass basis May 25, up from $64.89 May 18.
The U.S. pork cutout was $75.60 per cwt. May 25, up from $73.66 May 18.
The estimated U.S. weekly slaughter to May 26 was 2.302 million, down from 2.348 million the previous week.
Slaughter was 2.202 million last year at the same time.
In Canada May 26 Signature Five price was C$155.77 per 100 kilograms, up from $151.96 the week before.

Bison
The Canadian Bison Association said Grade A bulls in the desirable weight range sold at prices up to C$6 per pound hot hanging weight. U.S. buyers are offering US$4.60 or more with returns dependent on exchange rates, quality and export costs.
Grade A heifers sold up to C$6, U.S. buyers are offering US$4.40.
Animals outside the desirable buyer specifications may be discounted.
Lambs
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 613 sheep and lambs and 26 goats sold May 22. Light lambs sold lower. Heavy lambs traded steady to slightly higher. Lean sheep sold $10 cwt. higher. Thicker sheep and goats sold steady.
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported 1439 sheep and 146 goats sold May 22.
Wool lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $250-500 per cwt., 55 to 69 lb. were $244-$300, 70 to 85 lb. were $235-$276, 86 to 105 lb. were $225-$255 and 106 lb. and heavier were $220-$240.
Wool rams were $90-$162 per cwt. Cull ewes were $100-$200.
Hair lambs lighter than 54 lb. were $240-$280 per cwt., 55 to 69 lb. were $240-$270, 70 to 85 lb. were $220-$265, 86 to 105 lb. were $220-$250 and 106 lb. and heavier were $210-$230.
Hair rams were $98-$125 per cwt. Cull ewes were $100-$180.
