The Saskatchewan government plans to improve and repair 1,400 kilometres of road this year, as long as the weather co-operates.
Eighty-six percent of the planned projects were completed last year under the trying conditions of excess moisture and storms.
Major projects this year include continuing work on twinning Highway 11 between Saskatoon and Prince Albert. It is to be completed in 2012.
A new interchange at the Trans- Canada Highway and Lewvan Drive in Regina will be completed, along with other work necessary for access to the Global Transportation Hub near Regina.
In rural areas, 160 km will be upgraded.
