Ed Zsombor, a Saskatchewan railway inspector who has worked extensively with the province’s short-line railways, will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Transportation Hall of Fame this week.

Each year, the hall inducts one new member. Zsombor will be the 25th.

Zsombor has worked in the railway sector for more than 40 years, including time at Canadian Pacific Railway, the City of Regina and as a rail transportation consultant.

He has worked with the provincial highways ministry since 1997 and has focused on the regulation, safety and growth of the short lines.

The hall of fame is located at the Western Development Museum in Moose Jaw, which focuses on the history of transportation.
