Wheat, canola higher in weekly port price report

Wheat and canola prices rose in the latest Agriculture Canada weekly price summary while durum was mixed.

The May 22 Agriculture Canada West Coast port price for No. 1 CW hard red wheat 13.5 percent protein was $308.82 per tonne, up $6.14 a tonne from where it was the week before. The St. Lawrence price for the same grade was $304.48, up $27.79.

The PDQinfo.ca site says CWRS wheat on the Prairies today ranges from about $195.98 to $218.37 a tonne.

As of May 22 the West Coast price for No. 1 durum 13 percent protein was $417.93, down $14.50 and the St. Lawrence 12 percent protein price rose to $408.42, up $12.12.

According to the website PDQinfo.ca, Prairie durum bids range from about $271.54 to $315.19 per tonne.

Canola at the West Coast was $491.15, up $5.85.

PDQInfo.ca reports canola ranges from about $411.62 to $455.46 across the Prairies.
