Ukraine’s 2015 barley harvest could fall sharply

KIEV (Reuters) — Ukraine’s barley harvest could fall by about 22 percent to seven million tonnes this year due to a smaller sowing area and poor weather during sowing last autumn, analyst UkrAgroConsult said on Monday.

The planted area of winter barley was about three percent less than last year and the crop condition was “the worst for the last three years,” the consultancy said in a report.
