KIEV, Sept 23 (Reuters) – Ukraine has exported around 7.8 million tonnes of grain so far in the 2014/15 season, or 48 percent more than in the same period a year ago, the agriculture ministry said on Tuesday.
The volume for the season so far included 4.4 million tonnes of wheat, 2.7 million tonnes of barley and 493,000 tonnes of maize, the ministry said in a statement.
Ukraine, which plans to harvest at least 63 million tonnes of grain this year, expects to export about 30 million tonnes this season, which runs from July to June.
The former Soviet republic exported around 32 million tonnes of grain last season.
