Tuesday results from Canadian Western Agribition

The first show champions were crowned at Canadian Western Agribition yesterday.

A Simmental, Wheatland Lady 447B, from Wheatland Cattle Co. at Bienfait, Sask., won the interbreed First Lady Classic bred heifer show.

The reserve went to Elder’s Princess 359B from Elder Charolais Farms at Coronach, Sask.

In the First Lady Futurity, two Black Angus topped the competition.

The champion was Harvest Blackbird Jo Jo 13 A from Harvest Angus of Prince George, B.C.

The reserve was BAR-E-L Erica 74A from Blairwest Land and Cattle and Blairs.Ag Cattle Co of Drake, Sask.

The President’s Classic, a new interbreed bull calf competition, was also won by a Black Angus entry, Brooking Silver Lining 5012, from Booking Angus Ranch at Radville, Sask.

A Horned Hereford, BR 15Z Crossover 135C from Braun Ranch Ltd. at Simmie, Sask., won the reserve.

In the Boer goat show, SLF Ranch of Edgerton, Alta., showed the grand champion purebred buck, Du Biquet High Tech, and Calico Creek Goats of Yorkton showed the reserve, WRCK Rip Chord.

Kerry O’Donnell of Calder, Sask., showed both the grand and reserve doe champions: Kae Ronne Allegra 304A and Kae Ronne Ultra Gal 332U, respectively.

Calico Creek won the grand and reserve titles in the percentage doe class with Calico Creek Suds and Calico Creek Latisha, respectively.

In the young producer show, Bundy Livestock from Balcarres, Sask., exhibited both the grand and reserve champion wether.

And in the commercial show, Bundy Livestock won the grand and reserve market kid, while Calico Creek won the grand and reserve commercial doe with Calico Creek Velvet Stiletto and Calico Creek Shasta.

A pen of three does from Penncrest at Moose Jaw won the pen championship.
