Top seller brings $14,000 at Quarter Horse sale

The Prairie Quarter Horse Breeders Select Fall Sale was held at Prairieland Park, Saskatoon, Oct. 27.

The overall highest selling horse was Dolly D Day at $14,000. The mare was consigned by Wanda Cormack of Pickardville, Alta., trained by Dale Clearwater of Hanley, Sask., and bought by Lana Wutzke of Vanscoy, Sask.

* The overall average price was $1862.25 on 49 head sold.

* The average sale price of the top five horses was $6780.

* Thirteen horses aged four and older sold for an average of $4,030.76.

* Five three-year-olds sold for an average of $2,360.

*Four two-year-olds sold for average of $1,612.50.

* Ten yearlings sold for an average of $937.50.

* Seventeen weanlings sold for an average of $660.

All horses that sell are eligible to come back to compete in futurity classes.
