Quebec cow wins second major dairy championship in a month

A six year old Holstein named RF Goldwyn Hailey owned by Gen-Com Holstein Ltd. of Quebec won the supreme dairy championship at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair held in Toronto Nov. 2-11.

Earlier in October this cow was named supreme champion at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin.

Her Holstein classification is excellent 97. Born in April 2006 this cow has had four calves and has 11 offspring.

Embryos have been sold to Japan, Australia and Germany. The cow resides at the farm at Notre-Dame-du-Bon Conseil in Quebec, owned by Mario Comtois and his family.

The reserve supreme cow was a red and white Holstein from Milk Source Genetics in Wisconsin.

Red and White Holstein: Blondin Redman Seisme, Milk Source Genetics, Kaukauna,Wisconsin

Brown Swiss: Eloc Wagor Kandid, Ken Main and Peter Vail, Copake, New York

Ayrshire: Sweet Pepper Black from Beverly Donovan, Benton, Maine

Black and White Holstein: RF Goldwyn Hailey from Gen-Com Holsteins

Jersey: Arethusa Response Vivid, Litchfield, Connecticut
