Saskatchewan is moving ahead with helicopter ambulance transport after signing a service agreement with Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society.
STARS provides Alberta with its air ambulance transportation.
The province is investing $5 million this year and $10 million annually in the future to finance the service.
Crescent Point Energy has announced a $5 million donation and on April 6 Mosaic Potash committed $5.5 million.
Other companies have also announced financial support, including Husky Energy, Enbridge and Rawlco Radio.
The helicopter ambulance service should be operating this fall in central and northern Saskatchewan and next year in southern regions.
