Saskatchewan parks staff intend to carry out a prescribed burn in Fort Carlton Provincial Park between May 21 and  May 23, weather permitting.

The burn area will be about 136 acres and is east of the park interpretive centre, between the North Saskatchewan River, the entrance road and the east park boundary.

This burn is to help restore native grass, renew aspen and reduce wildfire risk in the park. Over the next 10 years, there will be burns every two or three years to meet these objectives.
