Sask. lowers natural gas rate

The Saskatchewan government has approved a 12.7 percent decrease to SaskEnergy’s natural gas commodity rate.

The rate of $4.55 per gigajoule takes effect Nov. 1 and is the lowest rate in nearly 10 years.

Average residential natural gas bills will drop seven percent or $66 per year, while commercial bills will decline 8.3 to 9.2 percent, depending on consumption.
