The federal and provincial agriculture ministers today announced funding for youth leadership and mentorship programs in Saskatchewan.

The five-year $500,000 fund will be available to industry associations to develop future agricultural leaders.

Associations are eligible to receive up to $4,000 per mentorship to a maximum of $20,000 per association to help young producers gain leadership skills and networking opportunities. Eligible activities include travel expenses for events and meeting registration fees.

No program has existed for all sectors of agriculture up to now.
