Directors elected for Sask. wheat, barley commissions

The ballots have been counted and the new boards for the Saskatchewan wheat and barley commissions elected.

Representing wheat producers for the next four years are Rod Flaman of Edenwold, Ken Rosaasen of Saskatoon, Bill Gehl of Regina and Glenn Tait of Meota.

Three directors will serve two-year terms: Dan Danielson of Saskatoon, Laura Reiter of Radisson and William Rosher of Kindersley.

The board of the barley development commission will include Jason Skotheim of Spruce Home, Brent Johnson of Strasbourg and Allen Kuhlmann of Vanguard, who each won a four-year term. Two-year terms will be served by Cam Goff of Hanley, Jeff Mathieson of Regina and Zenneth Faye of Foam Lake.

There were 2,112 mail-in ballots cast for the wheat commission and 549 for the barley commission.

The directors will take office after the first annual general meetings of the new commissions on Jan. 13, 2014, during CropSphere.
