If Monday hadn’t happened, crop prices wouldn’t be much different.
Canola prices were up ten cents per tonne for both March and May futures contracts, or a change of .02 percent, at Monday’s close. Spring wheat fell a penny a bushel on nearby contracts, and other wheat contracts rose a penny or two.
However, oats did the opposite, falling three to four cents on nearby contracts.
The biggest mover and shaker of the day was March corn, which rose 5.5 cents.
Meats were more exciting, with lean hogs taking another beating and falling 3.43 percent while feeder cattle rose 2.23 percent. Hog futures are at lows not seen since 2009.
