As rainfall continues in southern Alberta, more stream flow advisories have been added to the list.

Today, Alberta Environment reported high stream flow advisories for all tributaries flowing from the Cypress Hills, the Oldman River upstream and downstream of Lethbridge, the Bow River upstream of Calgary, the Elbow River upstream and downstream of the Glenmore Dam, the Highwood River and all its tributaries, and the Sheep River and all tributaries.

Remaining on the list issued June 25 are high stream flow advisories for the South Saskatchewan River including Medicine Hat and the Bow River downstream from Calgary.

Today’s forecast includes rainfall of 40 to 80 millimetres, some of it in intense localized thunderstorms.

About eight mm have fallen since yesterday.

A high stream flow advisory means water levels are rising rapidly but no major flooding is expected. There may be minor flooding in low-lying areas.
