KIEV, Ukraine (Reuters) — Analyst UkrAgroConsult on Aug. 13 raised its forecast for Ukraine’s 2013 grain crop to 53.83 million tonnes from a previous estimate of 51.93 million due to a bigger harvest of corn and wheat.
The harvest of wheat is likely to reach 20.69 million tonnes while corn output could total 23.6 million, the consultancy said in a report.
UkrAgroConsult said Ukraine harvested 42.1 million tonnes of grain in 2012 while the official figure stood at 46.2 million.
