North Dakota-based Appareo Systems, which makes monitoring equipment for Seed Hawk as well as its own line of product blockage and rate tools, will jointly work with Agco.
The large, farm equipment maker will integrate Appareo’s data capture and wireless communication and machine control technology into its machinery lineup.
Agco’s ATS Fuse technologies were designed to allow multiple platform integration of precision agriculture tools. The Fargo company gets the opportunity to globally expand on its experience with electro-mechanical devices.
One of them is its audio driven, wireless blockage and rate monitor, which works through a stethoscope-like connection with a metal plate in the seed or product distributor-run to a microphone that counts product flow and then wirelessly transmits it to a tablet computer.

Sulfur strikes an Alberta match
H.J. Baker has expanded its production in Western Canada with a new plant in Irricana, Alta.
The 44,000 sq. foot facility will process the company’s Tiger-Sul bentonite and sulfur product.
The 51 acre site allows the company to have a research and development home in central Alberta as well as create a training facility.
