In the competitive SP sprayer world, engineers constantly upgrade technology. In this quest, they often start right from scratch, as CaseIH did with the three new Patriot 50 sprayers.
“We completely redesigned every detail of the Patriot 50 series sprayer to deliver next-level efficiency along with an unmatched day-to-day operator experience,” said Case’s Mark Burns, application equipment manager.
The three 50 models are Patriot 3250, Patriot 4350 and Patriot 4450. All three continue the distinctive cab-forward, rear-engine design and new cab ergonomics with improved operator control, Burns said in an interview.

The cab incorporates the same multi-control armrest layout used in current Steiger and Magnum tractors. The operator controls the sprayer with conventional controls on the multi-function handle.
Realizing that an operator might spend 12 or more hours a day in the cab, Case engineers created an innovative four-bar linkage chassis suspension that gives the machine eight inches of total suspension travel. Axle adjustment options enable the operator to match axle track width to conditions and terrain.
A parallel-link boom suspension design delivers a stable platform for product application, even in rough conditions. “We pulled out all stops in designing this new suspension. Whatever the system needed, the system got,” Burns said.
According to a Case news release, Patriot 50 comes equipped with the AFS Pro 1200 display, which delivers complete chassis monitoring and control. Plus it includes the Viper 4+ display, which offers enhanced auto-guidance and product control.
Patriot 50 series sprayers can be equipped with optional AIM Command FLEX II advanced technology, which incorporates individual nozzle on-off control to ensure application efficiency. This technology optimizes application rates and droplet sizes for consistent application, regardless of speed, rough terrain, irregular shaped fields and in turns. AIM Command FLEX II has six modes of operation. Enhanced nozzle control valves are capable of higher flow so you can spray at faster speeds or apply more product as needed.
Operated through the Viper 4+ display, AccuBoom Automatic Boom Section control automatically turns off boom sections when the sprayer enters an area already sprayed. It then turns the sections back on when leaving the applied area. The optional AutoBoom XRT automatic boom height control detects and accommodates changes in terrain for accurate coverage.
At fill time, everything is within reach with a one-stop service centre, ground-level connections and open architecture design. A tip-wash station provides an accessible mini-shop for operators to clean off spray tips with both an air nozzle and water outlet.
Enhanced LED light packages provide better nighttime visibility and use less power. Optional factory-installed, blue-lens spray pattern lights provide exceptional visibility for night applications. Patriot 50 series booms are available in width options from 60/90 to 69/135 feet.
Every Patriot 50 sprayer is guidance-ready. With AFS Connect and Raven Slingshot, operators have connectivity, guidance, data and monitoring tools to maximize productivity. Patriot 50 sprayers come with a five-year subscription to the AFS Connect farm management portal, which allows producer and ag retailers to create prescriptions, visualize data and track machines. When equipped with RS1 or SC1guidance options, users can take advantage of a five-year Slingshot gold package subscription.
Patriot 50 series sprayers are available to order for fall 2022. Tank capacities range from 800 to 1,600 gallons.
