The New Holland TH6.26 telehandler debuted at the World Ag Expo in California earlier this year.

In North America, New Holland has been offering two large-frame telehandler models, the TH7.42 and TH9.35. Now, that line gets a new little brother with the pending introduction of the TH6.26, which will be available later this year.

The compact TH6.26 offers a six-metre (19.7-foot) lift height and load capacity of 2,600 kg (5,732 lbs.).

New Holland chose to debut the TH6.26 on the grounds of the World Ag Expo in Tulare, California in February.

China’s grain imports have slumped big-time

China purchased just over 20 million tonnes of wheat, corn, barley and sorghum last year, that is well below the 60 million tonnes purchased in 2021-22.

“This telehandler we’re introducing this week is in addition to our lineup of large-frame telehandlers that have been part of New Holland’s DNA for some time,” Lena Bioni, New Holland Agriculture’s product manager, said while standing beside the machine.

“This is the very first unit to make its way to North America. We’re excited to show it to dealers and customers here. We’ll have orders open later this year.”

The company expects the telehandler’s compact size will make it popular with a number of specialty agriculture operations such as poultry producers, smaller growers and livestock and hay operations that don’t need the reach and capacity offered by the bigger machines.

Under the side hood is a four-cylinder, 74-horsepower engine mated to a hydrostatic transmission. However, this isn’t one of CNH’s standard FPT engines. This diesel comes from a joint venture with Italy’s Faresin, which isn’t really a household name in North America.

An optional hydraulic connection is available at the end of the boom to operate boom-mounted attachments.

“With front attachments, we use a Manitou-style quick attach,” Bioni says. “It’s a common quick-attach (design).”

The 37-inch wide cab offers all the usual operator comforts. Aside from the 360-degree view from the operator’s seat, there is a standard rear-view camera for operating in tight spaces.
