A low pressure system moving across northern Alberta is bringing showers to the northeastern regions of the province. The remainder of the Prairies is mostly dry this morning as high pressure dominates the eastern Prairies. The forecast is calling for continued dry weather in the southern and central Prairies through the remainder of the week. The total amounts of precipitation over the next five days will remain concentrated in northern Alberta with amounts expected to reach the 15 to 35 mm range. The rest of the Prairies is expected to be mostly dry.

Temperatures are expected to be mild today with highs mostly in the upper single digits to low teens. Warmer temperatures are expected from tomorrow through the weekend with highs mostly in the mid to upper teens. Cooler weather is expected to return to the Prairies early next week with highs mostly in the mid to upper single digits. Temperatures are expected to return to the low teens by the end of next week.

The long-term forecast has been consistent over the past week with above normal temperatures expected to prevail through the middle of November. The above normal temperatures will also bring mostly dry conditions to the Prairies. This is an ideal forecast for the completion of fall field work.
