A few weeks ago I wrote a column about an old issue of The Western Producer, dated Sept. 10, 1942. It was provided to us by a reader who wanted to ensure we looked after it, because the paper is in very good shape for a 69-year-old issue.
As I was readying the fragile copy for storage in our library, I took another look at the classified ad section and I found this item under the SWAP heading. I can’t help wondering about the situation that prompted placement of this ad.

Such speculation is the lingering appeal of old issues. But please don’t respond to this ad. I doubt the deal is still available.
