REGINA (Staff) – The first week of committee hearings on Saskatchewan Wheat Pool’s proposed legislation allowing the company to sell shares on the stock market saw an equal number of presentations in support and opposition.

Pool management and the Co-operating Friends of the Pool both made joint presentations to the Standing Committee on Private Members Bills the first day.

These were followed over the next three days by individuals making 11 presentations supporting the legislation and 11 opposing it. Several presentations supporting the legislation were written by more than one person.
