Saskatchewan will observe the day of the honeybee May 29.

This is the second year the province has proclaimed a day honouring the insect.

The province’s beekeepers produce 8,000 tonnes of honey a year worth $21 million.

The Canadian Honey Council estimates the value of honeybees for crop pollination at more than $2 billion annually.
