High stream flow advisories were issued today for four waterways in southwestern Alberta.
The provincial environment department said Lee Creek, Pincher Creek, Drywood Creek and the Waterton River are rising, although no major flooding is expected at this point.
Minor flooding is possible in low-lying areas. Those located close to these waterways should take precautions against rising water levels.
Central and southern Alberta have received 10 to 30 millimetres of rain in the last two days, with localized showers dropping 40 to 60 mm. Light showers are expected to continue for the next two days, according to forecasters.
Alberta Environment said stream flow conditions in the province are generally average to above average for this time of year.
