Deer problem

I read with great interest the article on page 17 in the Nov. 18 issue. The article makes reference to the deer population in Saskatchewan.

If the government changed the law and allowed non-natives to outfit on agricultural land and they brought in non-resident hunters and had to shoot a doe before they could shoot a buck, this is a win-win situation for Saskatchewan Government Insurance having less claims.

I brought this up to my local MLA a few years ago but it fell on deaf ears. Now with an election coming next fall, let’s talk to our MLAs and make it an election issue. The way I understand the law, natives can hunt on agricultural land but non-natives cannot as an outfitter with non-residents.
