FARGO, N.D. – Fragile crops that need tender loving care have always been at risk when taking a sudden plunge from high dump carts into semi trailers.
The AULcart solves the problem with a hydraulic vibrator that lets the operator avoid the all-at-once dump by gradually feathering the load into the semi at a more shallow angle.
The vibrating edge causes the product to trickle out of the hopper into the semi. The operator controls the unload rate by adjusting the hopper angle and vibration speed. The vibrator also helps move stubborn loads such as wet silage.

The AULcart is used for just about any crop grown in the upper U.S. Midwest, said Chris Wallace of A &T Sales in Breckenridge, Minnesota.
“Some farmers use the same cart for sugar beets, potatoes, soybeans, silage and cereals,” he said.
“It’s poly lined so cleanout from one crop to the next is easy. For corn, it holds 750 bushels, so it’s about the same capacity a lot of guys have in their auger carts. But a dump cart has a lot more uses than an auger cart. Plus, that vibrator at the tip top is easier on crops than an auger. There are no augers in these carts.”
The AULcart has a capacity of 25 cubic yards and is capable of lifting 40,000 pounds to a height of 11.5 feet. The hopper does not need to extend to the full 11.5 feet to unload if the truck has a lower box.
The hydraulic system has separate controls for lift and tilt, and requires 17 gallons per minute of hydraulic flow operating at full capacity. The hopper can be switched between left hand and right hand dump. The cart has a list price of $48,000 US.
