Shame onThe Western Producerand Barry Wilson for resorting to cheap tabloid journalism in reporting on the Saskatchewan flood situation ( “Help for Sask. farmers irks Ont.”, July 15.)

Is this an attempt to sell more papers or to try to divide the farm community or both?

The article accurately quotes me as indicating the Ontario Federation of Agriculture and Ontario farmers are “glad they did (provide quick AgriRecovery money for the flood disaster)”. How the headline came from that statement is very puzzling indeed.

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture has worked with all our provincial counterparts at the table of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture to develop the farmers’ agenda.

This national agenda includes the implementation of the revised business risk management programs we demand on behalf of all farmers across the country.

Mr. Wilson andThe Western Producerowe the farmers of Ontario and the farmers of Saskatchewan a retraction and an apology for misrepresenting facts and trying to instigate division when Canada’s farmers are clearly united.
