Angus-Simmental champion at Regina show

Robert Pineo of Weyburn, Sask., won his second consecutive grand

champion title at Canadian Western Agribition’s spring steer and heifer

show March 12-14 in Regina.

His steer, an Angus-Simmental cross named Silver, was selected by judge

Mike Howe from among the winners of 10 splits in the steer class.

Many of the split winners were Maine Anjou and Angus cattle.

Steer class:

Reserve grand champion steer: Carissa Watson of White Fox, Sask., with a

Maine cross

Shorthorn: Sadie Anwender of Radville, Sask.

Hereford: Makayla Glessman of Bruno, Sask., won with a Hereford heifer

Main Anjou: Kelsey Cooper of Craven, Sask.

Commercial heifer class: Wacey McCaw of Whitewood, Sask., won with a

Hereford-Angus-Simmental cross

Interbreed class: Megan Rossoof Moose Jaw, Sask.

Judging competition

Junior: Lauren Blair of McLean, Sask.

Intermediate: Joanne Schmitt of Arborfield, Sask.

Senior: Kyle Hale of Bruno, Sask.

Amanda Hamilton from Shellbrook, Sask., judged the event.
