Wall assumes office, names cabinet

Melville Saltcoats MLA Bob Bjornerud is Saskatchewan’s new agriculture minister.

Bjornerud, who served as agriculture critic while in opposition, assumed office along with 16 colleagues at a Nov. 21 ceremony at Government House.

Other key cabinet postings by premier Brad Wall include: Ken Krawetz; deputy premier and education; Rod Gantefoer, finance; Don McMorris, health; Wayne Elhard, highways; Nancy Heppner, environment; Bill Hutchinson, municipal affairs; and Lyle Stewart, enterprise and innovation.

The new legislature will meet for the first time since the Nov. 7 election in a two-week fall session beginning Dec. 10.
