The weather pattern this morning should appear to be familiar as yet another low is pushing through the eastern Prairies. This is pushing rains into southern Manitoba and parts of northern Saskatchewan. The total amounts of rainfall from this system are expected to reach 10 to 25 mm over the next 24 hours. Dry weather is expected to prevail in the eastern Prairies during the remainder of the week. The rest of the Prairies are expected to be mostly dry with amounts over the next five days forecast to receive less than 5 mm. Western areas of the Prairies are expected to be dry during the week.

Temperatures today are expected to reach the low double digits in the western Prairies while eastern regions will struggle to push into the upper single digits. The cool weather will continue in the eastern Prairies tomorrow, while western regions will remain in the low teens. A warm up is expected in the eastern Prairies on Wednesday which will see highs reach the low to mid teens. The warmest temperatures are expected to occur on Saturday when values will reach the upper teens and even hit the low 20’s.

The long-term forecast has been relatively consistent with a ridging pattern expected to develop over the Prairies through the first week of November. This should result in above normal temperatures into November. Precipitation is expected to be minimal across the Prairies with the current pattern of eastern systems bringing rains to the region will move towards the west coast.
