According to a news release, Bourgault is a long-time member of the party and believes strong fundamental leadership will strengthen it.

The release stated that if elected as Prime Minister, Bourgault and his team would work to re-establish Canadian culture based on foundational values, “as expressed in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Canadian Bill of Rights.”

The release further stated, “As the Charter of Rights and Freedoms beings, Canada was founded upon principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law.”

Bourgault pledged to remove COVID-19 mandates, scrap digital ID and control spending. He said he would remove the carbon tax while focusing on sound environmental policies and review immigration policy to ensure it is aligned with the rule of law and Canadian values and principles.

Bourgault joined other declared candidates Pierre Poilievre, Leslyn Lewis, Patrick Brown, Roman Baber and Jean Charest in the race so far. The replacement for former leader Erin O’Toole is expected to be chosen Sept. 10.
