The all-new SureSpeed integrated seed metering and delivery system provides 99 percent singulation at speeds up to 12 miles per hour. It will be available to growers for the 2021 spring planting season.
SureSpeed is designed to bring a much higher degree of precision into the practice of precision farming, said Ag Leader rep Brett Buehler.
“This system corrects the spacing errors that have been created by the traditional meter. Those spacing errors are created at several steps along the seeds path to the trench,” Buehler said in a phone interview.

“One of the things we’ve done is to place the seed tube opening a half-inch above the trench floor. That’s the lowest in the industry. To avoid bounce, we have the seed shooting straight out the back. There’s no downward velocity to make it bounce. When a seed is dropped straight down in a conventional system, it can’t help but bounce.
“Unlike other systems on the market, the seed is never in free fall during its travel from meter to ground. This results in an unmatched uniform plant stand. The flighted delivery belt has the lowest release point in the industry for consistent spacing at higher speed.”
SureSpeed accurately places all seed shapes and sizes without planter adjustments, resulting in time savings and more uniformly spaced plants. The unique meter orientation and brush wheel controls the transfer of seed from the seed disc to the Kevlar-reinforced delivery belt.
A stainless steel and Teflon-infused seed disc reduces drag and static electricity buildup. The system uses sealed gearboxes and brushless DC motors for performance and longevity. Tool-less disassembly allows easy inspection.
