A $21,000 two-year-old bull consigned by Silver Creek Bison of Binscarth, Man., topped the Canadian National Bison sale at Canadian Western Agribition Nov. 24.
The bull, which was also the reserve champion, went to Elk Valley Ranches of Kitscoty, Alta.
The grand champion bull, a yearling from Sandy Busche at XY Bison of Fort St. John, B.C., sold for $20,500 to Beldon Bison Ranch of Nipawin, Sask.
The five two-year-old bulls averaged $12,900, while 10 yearlings averaged $9,300.

The top selling female was also the grand champion, a bred two-year-old heifer from Silver Creek. She sold for $13,500 to Shale Creek Bison of Russell, Man.
Eight bred heifers averaged $7,275.
The reserve champion female was a yearling from Borderland Agriculture at Pierson, Man., which sold for $4,250 to Bison Spirit Ranch at Oak Lake, Man.
Ten yearling heifers sold for an average $3,605.
There were three pens of bred heifers that averaged $6,000 and two pens of yearling heifers averaging $3,200.
In total, 43 head sold for an average $6,990. That compares to the 2014 sale that saw 32 lots go for an average $4,818.75.
The sale was available to online bidders for the first time through DLMS and about 100 people from across North America were participating or watching, said auctioneer Brennin Jack.
