CWB has sold its Winnipeg office tower.

Company spokesperson Richard Martin confirmed the sale today.

Martin did not share details about the buyer or the purchase price.

CWB will continue to reside in the building, he added.

“We have conditionally sold the building … with an expected closing date on or about January 31, 2015,” Martin’s email said.

“CWB isn’t relocating. We will remain in the building as tenants leasing two of the eight floors.”

The CWB office building is one of the items at the centre of an ongoing legal dispute pertaining to the ownership of CWB assets.

A class action suit launched by four Canadian farmers and backed by Friends of the Canadian Wheat Board claims that western Canadian farmers are the rightful owners of the CWB office building and other corporate assets.

Class action litigants are seeking permission to have the arguments heard by the Supreme Court of Canada.

The CWB office building is located at 423 Main Street in Winnipeg.
