The high selling bull at the Medicine Hat Spring Bull Show and Sale brought in $13,000 for consignor MN Herefords of Airdrie, Alta., purchased by Misty Valley Farms of Maidstone, Sask., and Mark Law.
The grand champion Hereford from the March 19 show sold for $7,500. It was consigned by Lilybrook Herefords of Claresholm, Alta., and went to Brost Land and Cattle Co. of Irvine, Alta.
On the Angus side, the high seller at $7,400 came from BJ Cattle Co. of Del Bonita, Alta., and was sold to Samtia Angus of Coaldale, Alta.

The grand champion Angus bull, consigned by BJ Cattle Co., sold for $6,750 to Many Island Grazing Co-op of Medicine Hat.
A total of 123 bulls sold at the event. The Hereford average was $4,941, while Angus averaged $4,686.
Sale secretary Melissa Brost said averages were among the best ever achieved in the sale, and the number of animals on offer was also up slightly from last year.
