An Enbridge pipeline south of Regina was temporarily shut down Saturday after a spill at its Rowatt pumping station.

Enbridge shut down Line 67 just a few kilometres south of the city at about 10:50 a.m. and re-opened it at 9:20 p.m.

Initial estimates from the company suggested the amount spilled was up to 125 barrels or about 20,000 litres. The leak was from pipe within the station, the company said, not the pipeline itself.

Some spray from high winds landed on nearby farm fields but has been cleaned up by removing the snow. Soil tests will be done as well.

Line 67 moves 450,000 barrels per day in a 36-inch heavy oil line running from Hardisty, Alta., to Superior, Wisconsin.
